Welcome to DCS’s Youth and Family Services Program!

Deaf Community Services has implemented a new Youth and Family Services program focusing on services for deaf children and their families. During Deaf Community Services’ Townhall meeting in January 2016, the community expressed a tremendous desire to develop youth and family services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community. It’s critical for society to improve early hearing detection and intervention, and educational systems for Deaf and Hard of Hearing children from birth through secondary education. We believe that every youth and their family should be connected to resources that will best meet their needs.

Deaf Community Services strives to make a positive impact on the youth we serve. We know that the future of our community relies on them and it’s important that each of our participants is prepared for a successful and fulfilling life.

DCS’s Youth and Family Services’ goal is to empower children, youth and their families to develop stability and self-reliance by enhancing their education, health, safety and connections to their community. The programs and services are designed to strengthen families and help them realize their full potential. DCS is devoted to empowering families to learn and thrive through our services.

The current programs under Youth and Family Services include:

That is not all! We also are working on the potential for additional programs in the future such as Family Resource Center, Early Intervention Mentorship Program, KODA/SODA support groups and Teen Club.

We are relying heavily on volunteers to help grow our Youth and Family Services Department. Volunteers are able to gain experience and knowledge of local resources available to solve community needs. Volunteering is also a great way to strengthen the community and encourage civic responsibility as they are the most important resources community organizations have. The ability of people to willingly work together for the betterment of their community and themselves is a valuable resource. It all begins with you and us…come and volunteer for DCS! If you are interested in participating or volunteering in the services below, please sign up and follow the instructions:
